SI TRADING CARDS

SI Collectors family · the commerce engine · the fun one

Every card you own
has a story.
Ours tell it themselves.

This showcase binder holds 263 living cards, stubs and artifacts — Magic, Pokémon, the most storied sports cards ever printed, twelve famous nights, and one kid's signed Spurs cap whose story is still being told. Behind it sits everything else: over 761,000 cards and nights — 584,000+ TCG cards in live indexes, 49,747 checklist-verified sports cards, and 126,786 concerts & events in the open MusicBrainz index — and every one of them can wake up the same way: passport, voice, story, and all. Aliveness is a property of the engine, not of curation.

Our rules: a price is printed only when an API verified it, with its source and date on the passport. No invented box scores. No first-person player voices — the card speaks, the player's story is told in third person, sourced.

Preview build — browsing, stories and chat are real; commerce is a clearly-labeled demo. No real transactions yet.

The Binder — crack it open

The showcase: cards already awake, embedded so this page works anywhere. The binder is the marketplace — every card here is offerable; “not for sale” just means “not priced yet.” Tap any card to open its Artifact Passport.

Every Card Ever (Basically)

Live from the source indexes, searched from your browser right now. These are the APIs' own verified totals (checked 2026-10-13):

546,176Magic printings on Scryfall (33,001 unique paper cards, 1,059 sets)
23,736Pokémon cards on TCGdex, across 220 sets
14,607Yu-Gi-Oh! cards on YGOPRODeck
+ LorcanaDisney Lorcana via Lorcast (a few thousand; its API publishes no total)
126,786concerts & events in the open MusicBrainz index — plus 3,012,119 artists (verified 2026-10-13)
49,747checklist-verified sports cards in the Sports Catalog below (TCDB)

= over 761,000 cards and nights that can wake up here — search one, tap Wake, and it gets the full living treatment and a permanent place in your binder.

Sports has no open card database API like the TCG universes do — so we built its catalog the honest way: checklist by checklist from TCDB (number, player, team, set — facts only, credited on every passport), plus a curated showcase of legends in the binder above. See the Sports Catalog below. And when eBay's official developer keys land, live listings light up in the Market — see the panel there.

Pick a universe and search. Results come straight from its live API — totals shown are the API's own counts for your query.

The Sports Catalog — the big shoebox loading…

Every checklist-verified sports card we ingested — flagship Topps, Fleer, Upper Deck and Panini Prizm base sets, decade by decade, across the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and soccer. This catalog is not a museum of the famous: the 11th man on a 1975 roster is here too, and he wakes through the exact same living engine as a legend — passport, voice, research-on-wake biography, relationships inside his own set, and a market panel. Checklist facts are verified against TCDB; biographies are researched when a card wakes, never invented in advance. Sports copy, plainly: checklist-verified catalog now — live eBay listings light up the day the developer keys land.

The catalog loads on demand so the showcase stays fast. Tap “Haul out the shoebox” (or start typing above) and every card in it becomes wake-able.

The Shoebox of Tickets — stubs & concerts, alive

A ticket stub is an artifact like any other here, and it gets the identical living treatment: it wakes, it speaks (“I was torn at the gate on…”), and its passport carries three biographies — the stub's life (event, date, venue, seat), the night's story (third person, sourced), and the memory's afterlife in the “I was there” graph. Then it turns interviewer: the stub asks you informed questions about that specific night. The wing is led by two real ones — rescued from the owner's own wallet (below). Behind them, twelve famous nights are awake in the binder above as examples — Queen at Live Aid, the Miracle on Ice, Cash at Folsom, a Spurs Finals clincher whose stub cross-links to Tim Duncan's card. The full wing gets its own front door later at siticketstub.com (spelling registry-verified 2026-10-13); here, stubs are a wing of the living collection, not a separate app.

Concert finder: place-first search over the open MusicBrainz event index lives in the Every Card catalog — pick “Concerts & Events,” search a city or an artist, and wake any night into a passport. “Buy now or wait” price intelligence arrives with the ticket-affiliate and setlist.fm keys — until then, no ticket prices are shown, because none have been verified.

A REAL STUB · RESCUED FROM JOHNNY'S WALLET

Athletics vs. Houston Astros — Closing Day, September 27, 2026

Not an example. This pass lived in the owner's Apple Wallet all season — Full Season, Club Gilt Edge, Section 121, Row CC, Seat 5, Sutter Health Park — and it was there on closing day when Houston won 9–0 (box score verified against the MLB Stats API, gamePk 824948). Its passport holds the styled ticket replica, the owner's actual wallet screenshot, the verified box score, catalog cross-links for Walker, Pecko and Basso, and four questions it is waiting to ask him about that day. Status on its face: EXPIRED. Status here: awake.

A REAL STUB · RESCUED FROM JOHNNY'S WALLET

Türkiye vs. Paraguay — FIFA World Cup 2026, Match 31 · June 19, 2026

Also not an example. This pass lived in the same Apple Wallet — Entrance 1, Row 18, Seat 25, Category 2, Levi's Stadium (the tournament's “San Francisco Bay Area Stadium”) — for a World Cup elimination night: Paraguay 1–0, on a Matías Galarza goal inside the first two minutes, then ten men holding off a 79%-possession siege for the whole second half after Miguel Almirón's red card (match facts from match reports — USA Today / Sportradar). Its passport holds the styled ticket replica, the owner's actual wallet screenshot, the sourced night story, catalog searches for Galarza, Almirón and Enciso, and four questions it is waiting to ask him. Status on its face: TICKET ALREADY USED. Status here: awake.

Relive the Tour — the “I was there” map Map + passports real · attendee graph is a launch preview

Drill-down · U2 360° Tour

Tour (2009–2011, stadium shows worldwide, the claw stage) → cities (the tour's stops included Barcelona, Dublin, London, Paris, Toronto, Chicago, Pasadena, New York, Johannesburg, Sydney and Auckland) → show (Pasadena, Rose Bowl, October 25, 2009 — the night they filmed) → seat (that's the interview on the stub's passport: where were you, and what did the Claw look like from there?). Tap the U2 pin to open it. Attendee connections and multi-POV fan media — the same song from the pit vs. section 204 vs. Madrid — arrive with accounts at launch; the map, passports and interviews are real now.

Stub Rescue — digital tickets vanish. Rescue the memory before it does.

A screenshot in an expiring app is not an archive. Enter the night, and the stub wakes in your binder with the same passport as every artifact here. Evidence label: Owner attested. Photo previews stay on your device in this preview — nothing is uploaded.

Dream Matchup — fantasy fights, real stats

Any two cards in the binder, any era. The table is fact; the narrative is a clearly-labeled hypothetical — our read, never a box score.

Build Your Team — play manager

Pick any five cards — use “+ Team” on any passport or tile. Liv narrates your roster from their real records: combined achievements, combined numbers, no invented season.

The Card Shop Counter — the market

Offers can be made on anything. Where a real API price exists, a buy-it-now reference is shown with its source and date. Checkout here is a demo — at launch, payments run through Stripe Connect escrow: funds held until delivery plus a short inspection window, with an ~8% fee funding the guarantee pool. That is the launch plan, not a live service.

Live from eBay — not yet switched on

What this panel will do: pull live active listings for the exact card you are viewing — title, asking price, condition, seller, photo, and the exact item link — through eBay's official Browse API, and (with separate approval) real sold prices from the Marketplace Insights API.

Why it is dark today, honestly: eBay API keys live behind a free eBay Developer account plus eBay Partner Network signup, and keys must sit on a server proxy — never in page code. That signup is a short, guided task for the site owner. The moment it lands, this panel lights up with no other changes. What already works today: every sports passport links to an exact eBay sold-listings search for that card — real completed sales, no keys needed.

The Live Stage — Saturday at the card shop Preview / demo

SI-hosted live selling: the item presents itself, takes questions from its own record, and the ladder runs. This stage is a simulation in local state — no real bids, no real money.

Current demo bid: $0 · no bids yet

Cards Can Meet — trade-night energy

Opt-in, coarse, and safe by design — MEHKO-style privacy: neighborhood level only, never an exact address, and meetings happen at verified public venues. The venues below are demo venues illustrating the model.

Location sharing is off. Your binder is invisible to the map.

Card shops

Verified shops hosting trade days, with staff present and tables in the open. Demo venue type.

Coffee shops

Neighborhood cafés that reserve a Saturday table for traders. Public, daytime, busy — by design. Demo venue type.

Library & community rooms

Bookable public rooms for bigger trade nights and grading-prep workshops. Demo venue type.

The Hobby Collection — wake any artifact

Cards are not the whole hobby. Your signed cap, your game ball, the sneakers, the toy still in its box — pick its kind, tell its story in your words, and it wakes with the same passport as every card here: its own voice built only from your fields, a trust stack that shows exactly what evidence exists, and Liv's interview waiting below to finish the story. Evidence label: Owner attested. Saved locally in your browser's binder, mixed right in with your cards.

Signed? (all optional)
The event (all optional)

In this preview, photos never leave your device. A downscaled copy is kept in your browser's binder so the artifact's face travels with its passport — if the browser's storage ever fills up, the words stay and the photo lets go first. The live capture-at-the-moment moment (the strong version of Trust Layer 2) arrives at launch.

The Trust Stack — how we know it’s real

No single layer is proof. Together, they're stronger than a hologram.

1 · The Story

Liv interviews the owner while the memory is fresh — who signed it, which game, where were you standing.

2 · In-the-Moment Capture

A photo and timestamp from the signing itself, taken as it happens — not reconstructed years later.

3 · Event Corroboration

Claims checked against reality: box scores, rosters, setlists. If the record disagrees, the passport says so.

4 · Signature Consistency

Compared against reference exemplars and reported as “consistent with” — never sold as a certificate.

Evidence labels used on every passport: API verified (Scryfall / TCGdex record) · Editorial — sourced facts (hand-checked sports entries) · Owner attested (The Hobby Collection) · plus authenticator numbers (PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett) checkable live when commerce launches.
